Jay Ian Igiel is a senior attorney at Nealon & Associates, P.C. He has practiced with this firm since 2003.

Mr. Igiel practices primarily in the areas of corporate law and commercial litigation, government contracts, and civil litigation, as well as representing multiple financial institutions. Mr. Igiel’s practice involves corporate transaction work such as asset purchase and sales agreements, stock purchases, licensing and marketing agreements, incorporations and other similar matter. Additionally, Mr. Igiel has been trial counsel on numerous civil and commercial litigation matters, including actions related to securities fraud, derivative actions, legal malpractice claims, partnership disputes, contract disputes, ultra vires actions by boards of directors, and judicial dissolutions. In the course of his career, Mr. Igiel has worked with multiple credit unions, multi-state manufacturing companies, commercial real estate and development companies, technology start-ups, construction companies, and a wide variety of small businesses.

Mr. Igiel holds a juris doctorate degree from George Mason University where he completed the specialty track regulatory program. Before that, he graduated with a bachelor’s of science in politics and government from George Mason University, where he culminated years of debate competition drawing accolades on a national level.

Mr. Igiel is a member of the Virginia and California state bars, and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the U.S. District Court and Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Virginia, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas; additionally, he has been admitted pro hac vice to the Delaware Court of Chancery to pursue matters in corporate litigation. In Virginia, Mr. Igiel has argued before numerous courts including the Supreme Court of Virginia.
